Chef Todd Jackson serves as the Program Director at Jefferson State Community College, where he has been proudly working for the past 20 years. His culinary journey began in high school, washing dishes at a local BBQ restaurant. Inspired by that early experience, he enrolled in culinary classes at JSCC, and he earned his degree in 1994.
After graduation, he built his career in the private sector, working at esteemed country clubs such as Birmingham, Vestavia, Riverchase, and the Summit Club. Later, he transitioned into the corporate world, serving as the executive chef and dining room manager at Regions Bank.
In 2003, Chef Todd had a chance encounter with JSCC’s new culinary program director, who asked if he had ever considered teaching. Although it wasn’t something he had thought about before, the conversation sparked a new passion. That moment led him to shift gears toward education, and two decades later, he has earned a Master of Science in Education, specializing in Instructional Technology and Curriculum Development.
